I spent most of my life under the impression that I was not a creative person, but was fascinated by people who could paint, draw, sculpt or otherwise produce art. I had dabbled with painting murals when my children were young and, although I produced a respectable outcome, still felt like an imposter. In December of 2021 I spent a couple of months back home with my mom as we navigated the scary new reality and fear of what chemo and the future held for her. To keep our spirits up, we painted together, sometimes we gathered with family, but always we laughed and marvelled at the outcome.
I haven't been able to put the brush down since. I am a sponge for learning new things and creating beautiful images because I have come to realize that the more you try, the more you realize you can do and mistakes - or rather "happy accidents" are just part of the process. It is fun and relaxing and I want to share the joy of creating with you!
PS - Mom is doing well! She's living her life to the fullest and enjoying every moment.
